Optical packet switching (OPS) has many advantages such as high bit-rate switching, full transparency on optical packet format, more adaptable to the flexible bandwidth-on-demand, dynamic reconfigurability. It is an effective method of connecting seamlessly the high bit-rate optical transmissions and an important part of all-optical networks.
